STEVIE JONES AND THE WILDFIRES
Stevie Jones and The Wildfires hail from Northants UK and create a unique blend of acoustic-driven rock. Originally a trio who met at one of singer songwriters Stevie’s Jones ‘Wildfire Sessions’ Open Mic’s the original line up featured ex Martin Stephenson and The Daintees bassist Lou Short alongside the tech-Metal inspired Jake Patrick. After assembling a set centred around Stevie’s strong acoustic based original they began gigging hard and in 2015 recorded a crowd funded debut album ‘Stratigraphic Heart’. Recorded at Parlour Studios in Kettering with acclaimed producers Russ Russell and Neil Haynes it featured a number of guests including Marshall and Leon Gill from Blackballed, receiving favourable reviews. The line up expanded not long after release in 2016 to include guitarist Vassilis Damitriadis, with Bob Dabrowski coming in on bass with Autumn Dawn Leader an occasional guest on piano and vocals. The second album Angels and Sirens‘ produced by Adam Ellis on Deadline Studios, Leicester was released this March and featured appearances from LA guitarist Janet Robin (String Revolution, Lindsay Buckingham Band) and top Leicester harp player Sean Clutterham. The songs are split between hard-edged guitar based songs and more delicate acoustic arrangements which matches the band’s ability to adapt to different moods both live and in the studio, touching tales of modern day sex, love, politics and life in the music industry.
‘A hint of Counting Crows, The Long Ryders, Stone Temple Pilots and the band’s long time heroes New Model Army...Timeless wistfulness combined with rollocking rhythms keeps the album cooking from end to end’.
