The Smyths: Meat is Murder Tour
The Smyths are the UK's longest-established tribute to the one of the greatest bands of all time.
Thirty five years ago, The Smiths released their second album, Meat Is Murder to acclaim. It not only became their only record to skyrocket to the top of the charts, but went on become a classic, Rolling Stone marking it as one of their 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Now the foremost tribute to the band, The Smyths, will perform the album in full to celebrate the landmark date. This is your chance to experience favourites from the album all over again, as well as hearing other Smiths hits from across their career.
La Belle Angele club in Edinburgh, the venue originally formed in the early 90's and which for over a decade stood at the forefront of underground art, music and clubbing culture, was famously destroyed in the Cowgate fire on Dec 8, 2002.
12 years later the institution that once hosted live performances by the likes of Oasis, Radiohead and The Libertines, not to mention being home to ground-breaking club nights such as Manga and Ultragroove was finally rebuilt and La Belle Angele has returned in the heart of Edinburgh.
